FUNGICIDE | NEMATICIDE | BACTERICIDE
Smarter source, sharper science. Consequence™ is an evolved fungal chitosan product designed to strengthen crops and defend against a wide spectrum of pathogens. Consequence is a 25(b) EPA-exempt biopesticide, effective against nematodes as well as fungal, bacterial and viral pathogens.
The chitosan in Consequence is a naturally occurring biopolymer derived from fungal cell walls instead of allergenic shellfish sources. When applied to plants, Consequence functions both as a direct antimicrobial agent and as a biochemical signal that activates the plant’s own defense systems. Consequence also enhances root growth, nutrient uptake, and tolerance to environmental stress.
Environmentally safe, biodegradable, and compatible with integrated pest management programs, chitosan is a powerful biological alternative to synthetic pesticides.
Active Ingredient.............Chitosan 5.0%
Inert Ingredients.............Water, citric acid 95.5%
Consequence contains chitosan which is an elincitor that indicudes systemic acquired resistance (SAR inducer) and leads to biostynthesis/production of key defense molecules within the plant. Consequence boosts plant's ability to defend against fungal pathogens, nematodes, and pathogenic bateria.
How it works
1. Apply Consequence to roots or foliage prior to onset of disease season.
2. Chitosan’s positively charged molecules bind to pathogen cell membranes, directly inhibiting fungal, bacterial, viral, and nematode activity.
3. Chitosan also serves as a plant defense signal, activating systemic acquired resistance (SAR) and induced systemic resistance (ISR), and triggering production of compounds like lignin that reinforce tissues and block infection sites.
4. With direct microbial action, strengthened defense systems and tissues, Consequence lets crops maintain vigor during attack, recover faster from stress, and achieve higher and more quality yields.
