Candidate Overview

Impello Biosciences, Inc., in Loveland, Colorado is seeking experienced, a highly motivated and collaborative a laboratory assistant to aid with molecular-biological and microbiological research. Individuals will work under the guidance of Impello's Director of Microbiology (DoM) and Lead Fermentation Scientist (LFS). Individuals with hands-on experience with PCR, qPCR and microbial technique will be given priority consideration. Candidates demonstrating a background or interest in agriculture, microbiology, molecular biology, the microbiome, are preferred.

Typical work will include conducting laboratory tasks including but not limited to: preparing culture media, microbial culture work (microbial enumerations, isolations, library maintenance and cryopreservation), soil or plant-tissue DNA extraction, operation of liquid handling robotics, assisting (DoM/LFS) with workflows, data recording, basic analyses, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and as well as maintain a high functioning and efficient lab with the highest standards for safety and cleanliness.

The selected candidate will join our R&D team and will work collaboratively with other teams to develop economic and robust technologies to support our production and pipeline of products development.  

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a science-related field (Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biology, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory role, with skills in aseptic techniques and following complex SOPs.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Must have reliable transportation to our Loveland, CO facility.

This is a full time position (FTE) and eligible for employment benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, etc.). The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000.00/year.
