Impello® Biosciences came into being because its founders were actively working in horticulture and not satisfied with how biologicals were offered in the existing space. All the science suggested incredible potential to make growers’ jobs easier through microbial and biological tools, but existing products often didn’t work consistently or well or at all. The founders of Impello Biosciences believed it didn't have to be this way. Therefore, Impello was created with one mission in mind: do better.

We’re developing solutions that increase profitability and reduce risk from the field to the greenhouse and everywhere in between. With biostimulant technology, we’re reinvigorating soils, plants, growers, and consumers with a powerful tool: the force of nature.

Prior to co-founding Impello Biosciences, where Michael Key oversees product development, innovation, and implementation, he was the Director of horticultural R&D at Functional Remedies, the first USDA certified organic hemp farm in the United States.

Michael has also been a research assistant in the Center for Rhizosphere Biology at Colorado State University, where he earned his degree in Horticulture.
